Orchard House Hotel

I had an amazing time on holiday in Lynmouth and this was an excellent base of operations. Rooms were comfy and quiet i fell asleep to the sound of a river nightly. Room 2 where i stayed had a four poster bed, and sea view. The breakfast was great tasting, and well served in a quant dinning room and it's dog friendly. Very grateful for them allowing us to stay.

what a gem!! Wonderful 2 night stay over Easter for motorcycle event. Yvonne and Jason were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms Beds Breakfast were first class as was the cider and red wine and the chats with them in the evening! And Tilly pup would definitely recommend the sausages. Thank you so much

Excellent!! We stayed at 4 places during a coast walk, and this was the all round best for value for the quality, etc. Its a quaint, delightful and very well cared for place, nice sitting room etc, our room had sea view and 4 poster etc. Breakfast the best we've had all trip... Very flexible in caring for diets, etc, and mix and match pre ordering the night before, so you know it will be perfect, and homemade stuff (really good) of many kinds added in. They made sure they got stuff in for our diets. Ps, incl. breakfast fruit salad... totally fresh... (unlike a certain purple chain hotel) Very welcome after 2 days on the hills with no shops! The hosts are wonderful! Really friendly, skilled, but also low key and leave you to it. Ps if you're walking 11 miles from Porlock on the coast path, you are not going to want to go the extra km up the cliff to Lynton for a hotel. I'm so glad we stayed here. PPS, you can pre order a dinner as long as you do so at breakfast time. I'm sure it would be lovely too. I say this as a lot of the Lynmouth eateries were only due to be open again on Thursday (!) so the curious walker might want to consider that. There is a bus that goes virtually hourly from virtually outside this hotel to Lynton and on to Barnstaple station (check the bus company website, as Google maps is wrong). More than the other places I stayed this trip, and based on our lovely room I'd love to come back to this hotel.

I would leave 6 stars if I could! Beautiful building in a fab location, very easy to walk to the coast path and the village. Jason was really friendly and even drove us to the pub and collected us so we could both have a drink which was totally unexpected but lovely! The room was cosy, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. VERY comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely, we had a full English and a veggie one, both cooked to perfection, and a massive pot of proper coffee which was perfect. Lovely place, lovely people and Dora dog had a great time too! Highly recommended and we would love to come back.

We love this place! Yvonne, Jason and Caroline (Michelle too last year!) are absolutely wonderful people who will do everything to make sure you have a fab stay. We consider them friends, as the little hanging sign on the door handle says. Our little boy absolutely loves staying here and refers to it as “going to Jason’s” when we talk about going on holiday. The breakfasts are fab, the rooms are lovely and totally unrelated to the property itself but Lynmouth is such a lovely place. Having stayed here multiple times, it’s safe to say we can’t agree with the negative comments. The building is an older property as shown in the photos (which maybe some people have missed?) and if you’re unsure about things like parking all you have to do is ask - it’s not rocket science but best to ask any questions upon booking so you know in advance! Jason and Yvonne are probably the best hosts ever and will do everything they can (and more!) to make your stay as lovely as possible! We absolutely love staying here. Sooooo friendly. Like visiting a family member. They were super welcoming for us and our small pug Luna. We had a four poster bed room with a sofa and it was excellent. Easy walking distance to the nearby facilities. Very quiet at night, even with being near the road. Would come back again happily and it's a easy recommendation. They also have a bar available and hot tub for a small extra fee. Really excellent all round.

Really exceeded our expectations! Perfect location, great building with lots of character, our room had been recently redecorated to a very high standard. Very warm welcome by Caroline who was lovely. Really comfortable bed and room, slept really well. Great cooked breakfast. We’ll definitely stay again!
